For best results, use a Mac with an 040 processor, 33 mhz and 8 megs of RAM. The game will run slower without enough Ram, the game itself uses needs about 3 megs of Ram to run smoothly. You will need about 4 megs of free hard disk space once you expand the software, it is 2 megs stuffed. Older computer systems may cause other problems.
Note: If the game appears to grow a bit, select "Compact Stack" from the Apple Menu during game play to return the game to its original size.
Hello again! This is the game I promised you, The Ultimate Warrior, version 2.02! Here is a quick run down of the improvements from last time.
1. The Interface looks much better, with a mideveil theme.
2. There are way LESS dialog boxes!
3. There is now an "Escape" button.
4. All magic spells are in a "Pop Up" field, no more typing them in!
5. Two new character classes, Samurai and Archmage!
6. A new dungeon, where the First Lord of Evil and his army of undead await!
7. Weak enemies run in you are too strong!
8. All monsters have Artificial Intelligence, I still don't know exactly how I did this, but the enemies have a mind of their own!
9. A price list in the store!
10. A magical potion inventory!
11. The store only sells things you can use!
12. In battle, the person with the highest agility attacks first!
13. Fixed those bugs in version 2.0!
14. Fixed more bugs from version 2.01!
15. A new feature called "Restore Character"
About restoring a character. I have tried hard to make a save feature, but I could not make one. Several people wrote to me asking if they could play with a character from an old version. The answer is no, but the restore character feature will let you start at your previous experience level, and give you a large amount of gold. If you want to do this, E-mail me with a description of your charcter, such as spells and power levels so I know you are not just pulling a fast one. If you provide me with the correct information, I will E-mail you a password that let you restore your characters previous experience level. You will find this button in the Temple in Zandar. Of course, another thing you can do is start another character, for the game is much funner if you try it again with another character class. Sorry to those who were attached to their character, but this is the best I can do. I will try and make a save feature for the full version.
And there are a few other goodies I'm sure I forgot to mention, this game is the result of over a year of cursing and hard work. I hope you enjoy the game! Also, there is a password for those who have paid a shareware fee. The fee is ten dollars, which allows you to do a couple of things:
1. Play with the three secret characters!
2. Registers you early, so when I complete the commercial version, you'll get it free, instead of paying more later!
3. You'll recieve special versions directly from me, and you'll have my respect as an individual of fine moral character!
In previous versions I mentioned a trade. I am sorry, but I will not accept any more trades, because it led to some problems. Also, you will see the button to upgrade when you start, you have to get the password from me. If you enter the pasword incorrectly three times, you will not be able to upgrade, so be careful!

Game Play:
When you start the game, you will see a large field, which is the instruction manual. Here are a few hints and advice to get you going!
All character info is on the top of the screen and on the side, keep an eye on this, it has information important to your survival!
All actions are made by clicking the mouse, or clicking on a button, all button have arrows and such to lead you to things.
You'll notice a box with 10 icons in it, they do the following:
1. Escape: Allows you to escape during a battle!
2. Player: This displays all of your power ratings, and your magical resistance, which is very important to know!
3. Fight!: This attacks monsters!
4. Magic: This opens your spellbooks, which you must select the spells with the mouse first. Then you type in the power level if it has one, and the spell is cast!
5. Weapon: Allows you to equip weapons and check out their powers.
6. Armor: Allows you to equip armor and check out their powers.
7. Shield: Allows you to equip shields and check out their powers.
8. Potions: Allows you to drink potions, and shows you how many you have left.
9. Rings: Allows you to use the Rings, you will only find one in this adventure, so you will not use this button much.
10. Spells: Tells you information about your spells, note this will not cast spells!
The game is easy to learn how to play, you will get used to the interface quickly. And some advice about the characters:
1. Barbarian: This guy can't use magic, but he has a lot of fighting skill. He is kind of boring to use, but he has fun when he meets people.
2. Paladin: The best character to start out with, use this guy if it is your first time playing.
3. Ninja: He is very quick and can kick butt, but has low hit points. Be careful, he can die pretty easy.
4. Archmage: The Archmage is a wuss. To survive, you have to get in the first attack! When playing with this character, battles end quickly, either you die, or the enemy does. Do not be afriad to crank his magic spells to max power.
5. Samurai: A fun guy to use, a good choice for the beginner.
The game will be different depending on who you select.
Other notes: I tried hard to develop a character transfer from the last version, but it proved to be futile! There is no way to lose your character unless you select "New Game" at the start, Hypercard constantly saves your information. If you want, make a copy of the whole game, if you have the hard disk space. I am sorry about this, but you'll have to start over, but don't worry, there is much more stuff that will make it funner to play than last time.
Attention Software companies: I would like to develop a commercial version of this game someday. If you like my game, please E-Mail me and tell me your ideas!
So that's it! My E-Mail again is erick@mcn.org, and you can reach me there! Thank you for playing The Ultimate Warrior. I have tried hard to make this game bug-free, but no one is perfect. Please tell me if you find any bugs! Again, write to me with thoughts and suggestions!
Note: If you do not like this game, please just trash it and have a nice day. We all have downloaded things we do not like.
Thank you's:
I would first like to thank Mr. Herbert Kohl of Point Arena, California, a good friend and employer, who started me programming Hypercard when I was 16. Without him, this game would not exist. I would also like to thank my two brothers, Stevie and Tony, for giving me a little advice and help along the way. And also, all of the people who wrote to me with your ideas, this game is for you. You all know who you are, and these changes reflect your ideas and thoughts. Thank you.
